i played favorites when i was kid. with dinosaurs. everyone goo-goo-ga-ga-ed over rex or brontos while i was all about the steggies, the dactyls, and (occasionally) the triceratops. steggies rule above all though…walnut brains and spiky tails included. there was a period of time where us cousin-types would fight verbally trying to “beat” each other’s favorite lizard. quite a bit of vicious “well, triceratops have horns!” volleys versus scathing “teradactyls have claws and they fly!!” responses.

it so then reasonably follows that anything starring dinos as heroes would be universally loved by me.
transformer dinobots? check.
james gurney’s dinotopia? check check.
national geographic articles theorizing that dinos may have had feathers?
– WAIT. what?!?!

in retrospect, the dino-fights paved the way for our wwf obsession. so really, blame american middle school education for instilling love of fake wrestling in the masses.
