1am and i am Wide Awake. because i am a night-owl. i don’t roll with daylight hours. so basically this means i need to hurry up with my blockbuster ideas so i can make a bajillion dollars and stay up at 1am doing crazy graphic shit per my pleasure. it only took about two decades for me to decide to steamroll convention and just fucking get on with it. hate conventional wisdom crap. i am not lazy simply because i sleep in. i sleep in because my brain is all sorts of stupid prior to 3pm. it’s ridiculous how productive i get nearing the end of the farkin werk day. never have thrived on the 9 to 5. since high school it’s been raring brain gears when past midnight. all sounds like a whiny teenage “you don’t understand me!!’ angst but i’ve only just realized tonight how much i’ve been surpressing in order to conform. early bird may catch a worm or two but the mad scientist who stays up when the sprinklers go on at night gets worms and escargot.

it feels weird to buy a unc sweatshirt because i never went to unc. nor do i know anyone who went to unc so i can’t even claim association. so the next geeky thing to do is buy a unc shirt for babies and make steven wear it. and then my cabbage patch doll can wade the marathon to march madness with me next season. NURD.

fresh & easy is neat. self-checkout is a god-send.
stupid, elastic faces and exaggerated physical comedy is lame. in other words, i hated jim carrey banging his head against the sink in liar, liar and i only gave a damn about his character when he made verbal, mental funnies. over-the-top physical comedy is only funny when the exaggerated movements make a point of enhancing the story or character. jim carrey making stupid faces because he can’t lie doesn’t do anything besides look like a stupid face.
which is why bruce almighty was surprisingly funny because all of his crazy faces and movements were actually put to use to continue the story (or at least run on a well-designed gag). otherwise, evan almighty is loads better than bruce. i don’t care if the message or plot is cliche as long as it’s delivered stylishly and earnestly. crap like legally blond annoy the shit out of me because i fucking hate that stereotype of blond ambition. there’s no heart in that flick because it’s just one big empty sashay of pink for two hours. never was there a moment when the dialogue created any interesting characters — other than serve to irritate to no end. dialogue in evan almightly may be simplistic but the delivery made all the difference. imagination is three fifths. the remaining two fifths is heart. critics should be reviewing based on that formula. cuz this shit is entertainment. not some exercise in academic scholarship.
still riding high on last night’s game. can’t help it, college bball is just so damn fun(!!).
didn’t get any werk done. i’m pretty much shocked that i was actually glued to the telly because of a ball game. wtfbbq.
it’s pretty hard to begrudge michigan any of their shots because, well, they’re such a Nice group of guys who really tried — they couldn’t hold it together most of the time but they tried. tarheels in the first half though? omg, it was like they could read each other’s minds(!!). crazy tight defense. so tight that they pretty much low-rided the second half. there were times i almost wished that michigan would somehow wake up and get aggressive so that at least there’d be some solid reason for unc to fight back. i’d like to see michigan come back next year — same guys, tighter game.
spent most of the day completely hazy-headed, dodging in and out of concentration. noon nap time helped, cuz now i’m Wide Awake for The Game. woo!!
side-note: commercials are ASS. watching the game online now.
